Almost daily in the modern construction market, new products appear. Materials and technologies become increasingly advanced. Construction work is more and more simplified. Manufacturers strive for ease of use, affordable price, high quality. One of these discoveries was the liquid wallpaper. On the market, of course, they are more than one day, but only recently received wider use. If you want to make your repairs original and make a highlight, then you can make drawings on the wall in the room or decorate the wall with liquid wallpaper.
Unlike classic wallpaper, they do not have such a spectrum of drawings, with their help it will not be possible to achieve photographic images or floral ornaments. But their color scheme is very wide. In one texture, a mixture of several shades may be present, the impression of interspersed of stone crumbs or vice versa a delicate and velvety surface is created.
You can apply liquid wallpaper on any base – brick or concrete walls, drywall, wood, etc.D. The minimum requirements for the surface are the absence of “shaky” sections (dumping plaster) and low waterjacking, t.e. so that the base does not absorb a lot of moisture. Old wallpapers should be removed, and deep cracks are better to putty to reduce the flow rate. Then, the wall must be well soaked with a primer of deep penetration and let it dry. If the surface is very smooth, then the primer should be with the content of quartz sand, as for facade work. This is necessary for even liquid wallpaper. On the rough surface, the wallpaper lie down evenly and do not roll.
The mixture is prepared very simply, the process resembles the preparation of glue for wallpaper, only, in this case, first pour the contents of the packaging into the container, and then pour water a little. Knead the solution exclusively with hands, no mechanical intervention. We interfere with the receipt of a homogeneous mass, which is consistent reminiscent of sour cream, t.to. very liquid mixture – flows from the wall, and thick – it stretches badly. Here we need a golden middle.
Wallpaper is applied to the wall with a smooth metal spatula, light movements along the semicircle. Layer thickness – about 2 mm. It is not necessary to put pressure on the tool in order to maintain the texture of the wallpaper. In wet form, they should be loose. Cover the surface carefully so that there are no spaces and translucent areas. Such a coating dries 24-48 hours, depending on the temperature and humidity of the air in the room. Acrylic varnish can be applied on top, this will add strength, resistance to mechanical damage and temperature difference. Also, varnish can be added when kneading wallpaper in the solution itself.
Wallpaper in operation is not rejected, not deformed, they can be cleaned even with the help of detergents.
