Plaster is used in cases where the irregularities of the walls are significant, and it is not possible to align them with a putty. All work on applying plaster can be divided into 4 stages: surface preparation, installation of beacons, applying plaster, surface grout.
Surface preparation.
Wall preparation begins with the removal of an old, fragile coating. Then the surface is primed. For better adhesion of the plaster layer with a concrete surface, a plaster mesh is used. Dranka is filled on wooden walls. If the plaster is applied to the brick walls, then they are “embroidered”- a cement mortar is extracted from the seams between the bricks. Installation of the beacons.
Lighthouses determine the necessary thickness of the plaster layer. Put them on a plumb line or level. Use lighthouses from pieces of plywood or screws. There are special beach profiles. The technique of setting beacons is as follows: they retreat from the angles of the wall by 20 cm and draw vertical lines, then the remaining area of the wall is divided into approximately the same distance, given that the distance between the lines is less than the length of the rule – a long even board, which will be equal to the layer plaster. On the intended lines we fasten the plumb line and, focusing on them, put the beacons. If the beacons are made of plywood, then we throw a little plaster on the wall and attach the plywood to it so that its upper surface is tightly touched with a thread of the plumb line. Self -tapping screws are simply screwed into dowels or right into the wall. We fasten the metal beach profiles on the plaster mixture and align using the level.
Application of plaster.
The solution prepared according to the instructions is thrown onto the wall with a wide spatula and equalized by the rule according to the lighthouses. The movement of the rule should first be from the bottom up, and the reverse movement should be from top to bottom. Then the excess solution is removed from the rule with a spatula and again thrown over the wall. It is necessary to work quickly, since the prepared solution is quickly settled. Surface grout.
After the applied plaster grabs, remove the beacons and fill the remaining holes with a plaster solution. Then we dilute a small amount of plaster, the consistency slightly older than the main solution. Wet the surface of the wall with water and apply the finish layer, smearing it along the wall, pressing the ironing iron to the surface. At the same time, all irregularities are filled and the admitted flaws are smoothed out. They rub the surface until an excess solution becomes an excessive solution, and the wall will not become smooth and even.
