Today, the use of drywall as a material for creating interior partitions has become very widespread. And do not be surprised at such a circumstance. It is quite simple to work with drywall, so you can build a partition from it without significant expenses of time and effort.
Also, in favor of this approach, it should be said that the plasterboard partitions themselves are hollow. This means that inside them it is possible to place communications of various purposes. For example, they lay television or telephone cables, wiring, and sometimes whole pipes.
But gypsum plasters have one serious drawback that follows from the characteristics of the drywall itself: it is too fragile, and therefore cannot withstand a large load. That is, the owners of the home do not have the opportunity to place heavy objects on the plasterboard wall, hang paintings or shelves. In fact, this is possible, but only on condition that a strong frame from a beam or metal passes under the drywall sheets.
Another version of interior partitions is made of brick. These designs are characterized by much greater strength, thanks to which any objects manage to hang on a brick partition – furniture, decor elements and the like. But there are negative features, including such designs. In particular, leaving a brick partition without a serious decorative finish is simply impossible. Therefore, you have to perform it first very careful plastering, and only then cover with any finishing material.
Brick has such a disadvantage as a large mass. Even if the partition is placed a quarter of the brick, it still turns out very massive. And it is far from always possible to guarantee that the base under the partition will successfully withstand its weight.
As an alternative, the first and second options are the use of foam concrete blocks. With the help of them, the partition is built very quickly, its weight is not too significant, and the strength is high. But foam blocks still need to be plastered. Without it, this material will not look worthy.
But the foam blocks have a serious advantage – they absorb the noise much better than the described materials, which when creating an interior partition is extremely important.
