The first thing that the ceiling begins with is the choice of suitable paint. At the moment, the most common and used paints are silicate, acrylic latex and silicone. The type of paint should be chosen depending on the type of room. So, for example, acrylic latex paint is not used when painting the ceiling in the kitchen and in the bathrooms, since it is extremely unstable to moisture and steam. In such rooms, it is much more reliable to use silicate paint, but, unlike acrylic, it is less elastic and does not have a good enough defects of the stained surface. The most effective colors are recognized as silicone. They contain all the best qualities of acrylic and silicate, but they are very expensive.
Further, when the choice of paint is defined, you need to choose a roller. The most successful option is two rollers: with a long pile for the main painting and a pile of medium length – for the final stage. Such rollers do not leave bubbles and do not absorb a large amount of paint.
Before moving on to the main process, you should carefully study the instructions for the paint. The bulk of the manufacturers recommends breeding paint with water, no more than 10% of the total amount of paint. But there are such types of paint that can hardly be diluted with water. Such paint should just be mixed.
To work it is convenient, it is advisable to create some stage, it is desirable that they are stable and the surface is not slippery. The stools or strong stools can act as stage.
To prepare the surface of the ceiling and recognize all the hidden irregularities, you need to apply a layer of diluted paint. After that, it is worth polishing the identified defects. Then you can proceed directly to the main painting of the ceiling.
For uniform and neat painting, the roller must be waved into the paint, and then roll out in a special bath or just on a regular piece of linoleum. Such measures are necessary so that the roller is completely evenly saturated with paint. The thickness of the paint layer should not exceed one millimeter.
The ceiling should be painted quickly enough and without breaks, all flaws must be removed while the ceiling is still wet, otherwise painting will be spotted and uneven.
It is recommended to paint the ceiling in several layers, waiting for the complete drying of each layer. Do not accelerate the process of drying artificially, it is also desirable to eliminate drafts and direct hit of sunlight.
With proper observance of all stages, the result of painting the ceiling with your own hands will be spectacular and high -quality.
