The main options for the selection of a massive board
Wood. Of course the first parameter is a tree breed. The choice is very wide: the wood of oak, maple, ash, tick, walnut, as well as many precious imported breeds (wenge, Merab, and t.P.). The classic solution is an oak tree, since it is optimal for our latitudes: hard, reliable, well withstands temperatures in winter and summer, retains geometry. The width of the board. Products of various widths are produced, from 60 to 450 mm. The board is most often used 80 – 120 mm wide. The choice of width depends on the size of the room. The larger the room, the larger the board needs to look organically. And for small rooms, on the contrary, the width of 60 – 80 mm is better suited.
Selection. From this moment, special terms are already begins to be related to wood. There are three main selection: it is a radial cut, tangential and rustic. The radial sawing is characterized by longitudinal homogeneous lines, without any special pronunciation in the surface figure. The tangential cut looks more expressive and has a rather diverse textured pattern. The most pronounced texture is characteristic of the selection “Rustic”.
Scatter in color. There are three options: this is almost a monophonic coating of the “select”, an option with minor deviations by the tone “Natural”, as well as the most diverse “Rustic”. You should choose based on the general style of interior. So, if the interior is strict and classic, you need to minimize the differences by tone. If the room is more modern and allows the expressive, heterogeneous texture of the floor, rustic is suitable.
Additional surface treatment
Modern technologies allow you to give the floor surface a completely unusual look. The main technologies are:
Bracing. The surface is artificially aged, as a result of processing it looks more impressive and expressive.
Stylization for metal. The surface can be covered with bronze or brass, as a result it retains a wood pattern, but looks very unusual.
Coloring. The surface can be painted in any color of the rala palette.
